CA State Treasure, Fiona Ma Endorses Andrew Janz in His Race For Mayor of Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (June 26, 2019) — Fiona Ma, California’s State Treasurer, endorses Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Andrew Janz in his race for Mayor of Fresno as she makes the penultimate stop in her ‘Building for California’s Future’ housing tour. Andrew will be joining Ma when she visits Fresno on Friday.
Ma said, “Andrew’s public service record and educational background make him the clear choice to be Fresno’s next mayor. He will be a strong proponent of job creation and local economic development. I look forward to working with Andrew to create more housing and safe neighborhoods.”
“I’m honored to have the State Treasurer’s endorsement. I also look forward to working with her in taking the steps necessary to fix Fresno’s housing crisis which exacerbates some of the city’s other major issues like homelessness and crime,” Andrew said. He added that “creating more accessible housing and fully funding this initiative will be one of my top priorities as mayor.”
Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. While in college, he worked on a number of issues to improve the quality of student life on campus, was appointed to a statewide strategic planning commission tasked with mapping the future of higher education in California, and was selected to attend the prestigious Panetta Institute for Public Policy founded by former CIA Director Leon Panetta

FRESNO, Calif. (May 2, 2019) — Fresno County Violent Crimes Prosecutor Andrew Janz will officially announce his 2020 candidacy for Mayor of Fresno at Radio Park in Central Fresno at 5:30 p.m on Thursday, May 2.
“Fresno needs someone who is attuned to the needs of its people. Throughout my campaign for Congress and my time as a local prosecutor, I have met thousands of Fresnans who have expressed the need for change in city management. Together, we can work towards ending widespread poverty and the other drivers of homelessness and crime.” Janz said, “I’m willing to work with anyone and everyone to ensure a better and brighter future for Fresno.”
